New Public Development Server
The osCommerce team is proud to present the latest addition to the osCommerce Network - the osCommerce Development Server - that is dedicated to the development of the osCommerce solution. The main focus of the new site is to foster a development community to participate in the 3.0 development cycle and to prototype ideas for the next generation framework.
The osCommerce Development Server provides public access to the development repository that contains the latest source code to the development version and a complete history of changes to reference on. In addition to public access, the development server also holds a Wiki, timeline, and ticket section that can reference each others data.
We are extremely excited to be able to provide public access to the development repository again after it was suspended to have put all focus from the development team into the new framework. With learning from the experiences gained earlier, the issues relating to the development versions are now handled by an external site that does not interfere with the Community Support Forums.
In addition to the services provided, an official #osCommerce IRC channel is also now available on the Freenode network where real-time based discussions with other developers are held. This improves the communication between developers considerably and remains unobtrusive throughout ones working day.
The current areas of focus the development team would like to attract developers in with the introduction of the development server include:
* Core Framework
* Languages
* Usability / User Interface
* Database Optimizations
If you are interested in participating with the development of the project, please visit the osCommerce Development Server at:

Please note that although the development repository is available to the public, we do not endorse the use of development versions for production use.
We look forward to the development groups the development server will attract, and the growth of the development team that realizes future project releases.
